From reality to art

Request by one of my family members. A painting of our cat Emilio estevan pus 2.
This is the first time i tried painting realistic, so excuse me for my bad fur texture. And i totally failed on the white part, it was har since i had no shadow to add.
The background was supposed to be brown, as you can see. But i failed there too, after seeing a tutorial of making fur, i wanted to try out that sock technique, but ended up being too much and almost no paint somewhere. So i ended up using sandpaper and making that old look.
I'm not really proude of this one to be honest, but it for do for now.

It's a 46 x 38cm F8 canvas, painted with acrylic paint. The brushes used is made of racoon-dog fur and synthetic hair.

Time: To collect the time i used, taking away the breaks. i would say about 4 days.
